Tier and Ability choosing
Pups are born with 2-3 tier 1 powers in their most prominent element.
If trained 15 times in each ability they get to move up to the ability in the old one's position.
Adults should have 2-4 tier 2 abilities if they learned one.
Genetics
So, there are two ways to get an element. A is to be born with a few and the most prominent one have the abilities. B is to have a talent in another element's area. Such as a fire element being good at swimming so now he has a bit of the water element with him now.
This does not affect guardians, as they are full blooded.
If an other element has 30% or more you can choose a tier 1 of that element and train with it to get the tier 2 version of it.
